What does automatic pool vacuum work better?

Does a pool vacuum like a baracuda work as well as a more expensive polaris that requires a booster pump?

  The difference between a pressure side cleaner like the Polaris and a suction side cleaner like the Barracuda is that the Polaris is designed to only pick up leaves and some of the larger particles in the water and blow the dust back up into the water for the surface skimmer to catch. Suction side cleaners like the Barracuda vacuum everything they encounter on the bottom and sent it to the filter via the leaf basket. the problem with these however is that they tend to get stuck in corners and don't like to much rubbish on the bottom as it tends to jamb them up However as many people swear by them as hate them it all in the luck of the draw. an other alternative is the floating skimmer which is a suction side cleaner that floats and once set up properly will stop about 98% of leaves and dust from ever sinking into the water in the first place as reducing the risk of infectious materials collecting on the surface of the water.
