Do caterpillars hibernate or just go into the chrysalis because I found one almost froze to death and brought it in and I want to know how to take care of it

Answer:
Caterpillars do not go into actual hibernation but can survive the winter by simply burrowing under the leaf litter, or squeezing into bark crevices. Others pupate as cooler weather approaches, and remain in this state until spring.
