How does Android Marketplace earn revenue, for Google or carriers?
-
Obviously Google makes $ from AdMob ads in-app, but does Google or carriers take a cut of paid apps? Do they take a cut of in-app purchases?
-
Answer:
Google takes a tiny slice of the pie (~5%). 70% of the revenue goes to the developer (as with Apple), and a significant chunk (25%) to the carrier. The revenue from in-app purchases is also similarly split.
