Are non core jobs in consulting, analytics, and finance as challenging and interesting as engineering jobs?

Answer:
The question is very vague and such broad comparisons aren't possible. Not all engineering jobs are created equal, engineering encompasses everything from building air-conditioned football stadiums in the deserts of Qatar to code monkeys mindlessly programming to a spec. Same goes for consulting, analytics, etc. You could be doing anything from populating excel sheets to building models that power Amazons futuristic "anticipatory shipping". So can you be more specific?
