How do I get an internship in a venture capital firm in Bangalore?

    If you are in a graduate or MBA program, here's what I think you can do: - If you are looking to work at a big fund like Sequoia or Khosla, they might have a program to hire interns though I don't think they do. - For small and medium funds like Accel, Seedfund, Helion and Nexus, it might be harder as they do not have any full-time or internship program for young graduates. However, there are new and small funds and angel groups who might be open to hiring interns. So, I would suggest you develop a list of funds, narrow it to which ones you like and then start networking. You can either use your alumni or professional network or write to the funds directly. It might be worthwhile to attend startup events, find associates or principles and chat with them.  It's always helpful if you already know someone who knows someone. - Once and if you get an interview, you need to build a case for yourself and you might need to define your own internship project. Having operational experience part. in the tech industry always helps.

Sarabjeet has covered everything there is to know about VC internships in India.  I'll add a but of detail on the small venture funds and angel groups that he mentioned, as I worked with two of them. I got my first gig because someone recommended me to the VP. Got the second one because someone at the first gig recommended me to the Partner. I'd really network wide and thin if I was you, and would develop other options as well. Luck will be as important as skill.
