How many days do you study before a Massive exam?

How many days does it require to study well for TOEFL? What books are recommended to study 2 months before the exam?

  • Please mention your study plan. I'm really scared about my TOEFL. Help me.

  • Answer:

There are 4 sections. People claim listening to be the toughest. I suggest watching utube videos on it. There is a video in which a guy explains what points to note in a conversation to attempt the questions asked from ot later. I found it pretty helpful. For speaking I suggest to watch a few hollywood movies, practice the accent and most important speak slowly. Siri could be good to practice with. Do some practice for writing. I do not have a specific suggestion here but practice definitely helps the flow. The unseen passage requires some vocabulary. Dont be relaxed reading the passage. Practice this section, it helps. If you have attempted GRE/CAT 3-4 days would be a decent time to spend. Above all is my personal opinion and may not be accurate so take them with a pinch of salt. Also, I did not have a very good score in TOEFL(101). Thanks for A2A.

Notefull Videos Link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCysg99o8WpfFnFF22fV2NMQ In my opinion, this is the best, most comprehensive and quite sufficient resource to gain detailed insights into each section of the TOEFL. Watch each video meticulously, several times, if necessary. Make not of each and every thing the guy teaches. He has given quite a few practice questions on his website, mentioned in the video itself. Buy Manhattan or Barrons TOEFL  guide that have a set of free tests included. Give these time based tests. That help alot. As for the speaking section, record your answer on your cell phone or a voice recording device and hear yourself. It will gradually help you improve your answers. Your good to go ! Ideally, it would not take you more than 2-3 weeks time to prepare for TOEFL. Best of luck!

If you are confident at speaking/ reading/ comprehending day-to-day English, TOEFL is rather straight forward. Unlike GRE's English section, the words used aren't arcane. I felt that timing the response for each question was the only tricky part. A bit of practice will help you a lot in improving that. I would specially recommend practicing any sample tests which are made available along with your TOEFL account, because the pattern in the actual exam is almost exactly the same. If you are writing GRE as well, I would suggest to spend most of the effort on that, as that would mostly take care of TOEFL. ... In short : Its easy(ier) .. Just do timed practices of all the sections till you feel comfortable.. All the best .. Thanks for the A2A.
