Well, it depends on how you define "best"   The advertising industry recognizes Apple's '1984' super bowl ad as the best TV ad in history.   You could measure ads based on how funny or memorable they are, but often entertainment value does not translate to more sales for the advertiser. For example, just today I was trying to remember which online job portal ran the SuperBowl ads with the chimpanzees. Was it Monster or Career Builder? I don't think either one is doing well.   It is difficult to attribute incremental sales to an advertisment. yet Go Daddy saw their market share doubled with their Super Bowl ad. That makes it a good ad in my book (as tasteless or tacky as you may find them)
