If this Huawei supports IBSS mode of WiFi (more commonly named Ad-Hoc Mode), then you can make things more interesting by using http://daihinia and make all the computers in the network automatically expand the network as soon as they join it. You will not need an AP, your desktop computer will act as a gateway between your Daihinia network and the internet.

Both DD-WRT & Tomato firmware routers support this: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Cellular_Phone/USB_Modem_as_WAN_connection. You can also use the 3G USB dongle as a failover/backup for a Cable/DSL modem. A friendly breakdown of this open-source firmware featur can be found on the FlashRouters Blog: http://www.flashrouters.com/blog/2012/03/26/dd-wrt-router-benefits-advantages-5-taking-full-use-of-a-3g-usb-dongle-or-4g-mifi-mobile-hotspot/.

No.  You can EITHER use the wireless OR the USB to connect to the cellular network. There is no means for this device to act as a WiFi interface through the USB port.  The device is a WiFi access point, not a WiFi endpoint.

Short answer, no. You need a wifi adapter. the Huawei is not a wifi interface, it's a cellular modem.

That should just work.
