What do you think about synthetic ice?

What influence do you think, if any, Robert Frost's Fire and Ice might have on A Song of Ice and Fire?

• Some say the world will end in fire, some say in ice. From what I've tasted of desire I hold with those who favor fire. But if it had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate to say that for destruction ice is also great and would suffice. This little poem was published by Robert Frost in 1920. GRRM has said that the title of the series is inspired by this poem. What other influence do you think this might have on the series?

  Not much really, other than a theme. Gurm is no Greyjoy. He does not not sow. He sows a lot of materials taken from elsewhere and mashes them altogether. His inspirations can be very familiar and unoriginal, but still intriguing and inspired. The concepts of fire and ice are very common in literature anyway, if not the most common. This was the only entirety of his mention about Robert Frost: Why is your saga called A Song of Ice and Fire, because of the Wall and the dragons or is something more beyond that? Oh! That’s the obvious thing but yes, there’s more. People say I was influenced by Robert Frost’s poem, and of course I was, I mean... Fire is love, fire is passion, fire is sexual ardour and all of these things. Ice is betrayal, ice is revenge, ice is… you know, that kind of cold inhumanity and all that stuff is being played out in the books. So based on this quote, I think Stoneheart should still be included in the next season. Yes, I went there.
