Do some iPhone app developers use PR firms to promote their apps? What are some well known firms promoting iPhone apps?

With over 250,000 apps in the App Store, getting a decent amount of downloads is difficult, so I'm curious to know if developers are employing PR Firms.

There are a number of iPhone app developers employing PR firms. Smaller, boutique agencies are likely to be a better fit for individual developers or small app dev shops. The big agencies usually have a high minimum retainer and may be less likely to take project work. In the Bay Area, SutherlandGold and SparkPR both have solid mobile practices.
