What are some mistakes to avoid in an interview?

What are some common interview mistakes we should avoid?

  • Answer:

I will try to list down few things that I did both before and during the interview to avoid common mistakes : 1. Never try to make a wild guess if you don't know the answer. Feel free to ask for hints and try to solve the problem. 2. Do not lie to them (both in technical and HR). They will appreciate if you are being frank and truthful. 3. Accept your mistakes and try to correct them then and there rather than fighting with them. 4. Don't make any changes to your solution if you are very much confident about it. 5. Enter the interview room with a pen in your pocket and keep your phone in silent mode or better turn it off. Its an important day for you, so don't try to screw it up. 6. Maintain a positive tone throughout the interview process (very important) and don't try to flirt too much if the interviewer happens to be a lady. 7. Try to use pen and paper to explain your answer if you are can not explain with words. Explaining your idea is more important there not the mode. 8. Before walking into the interview room, read something about the company, about their products and about their CEO. HRs will be very much impressed with that. I will stop here for other to post even more points.
