What are some new business tips you would give to a give to a small graphic design company just starting up?

  • I recently had to start my own design/illustration company with my business partner. We both have worked at agencies in the past and don't have alot of experience in finding new business.     Tighten up your website (it's critical for your line of work); work actively with your email marketing list - once a month mail outs, but ADD VALUE in each mail... do NOT mail people telling them primarily what YOU have been doing... Try offering them free tips, tricks, ideas etc which will help their bottom line. Ask nothing in return.
