What are the top China-based custom research and strategic consulting firms that service global investment firms and/or corporations interested in China?

    If you mean direct investment - i.e. opening a factory - I don't know the answer. If you mean financial/pension investment, foreign-owned consulting firms which have long-term experience in China run the gamut from global generalists (McKinsey/Bain), through pension/mandate specialists with a China practice (Towers Watson/Mercer), to China-only specialists who likely also have narrower areas of focus (Z-Ben Advisors for asset management M&A/subadvisor appointment, Vermilion for PE, etc). Can you be more specific about your intent?
