Medical Scientist Salary?

What is the salary range for a machine learning engineer/data scientist with two years of product experience in India?

• (For both Startups and MNCs) I have literally no idea on what is the market pay and how it is decided. Would want to know such prior information. EDIT : Let's say this is a core R&D engineering position in with MachineLearning and NLP, and then we consider only exceptional candidates. Websites like Glassdoor doesn't help much with this Data Scientist position, especially in India. Regardless of educational degrees, what is the ballpark range?

  There are couple of factors to this: Whether the person is UG/PG? or BE/MS/PhD? 2 years of experience for which company/sector? - Online retail/Banking/Consultancy/System Engineering/.... Does his skills match with what you want him/her to do? If not all then how much % do they match. If you know all the above points then you'll be able to make clusters of people with different salary range. You can also try http://glassdoor.com Edit: Based on your edits - 2 years R&D engineering job, Bangalore 10-14 LPA should be suffice. But you can take if working for a not nice company then you can push it little bit to 9, I guess.
