What would be the funniest answers to some of the commonly asked interview questions?
-
Here are some of the commonly asked questions (with sample answers) in HR round: 1. Tell me about yourself. - A typical job seeker who gets bored when cute HR like you asks such unsurprising questions :P 2. Why are you leaving or have left your job? - My repeated attempts to uplift my salary and position completely failed and in order to maintain self-respect left it solemnly 3. Describe a difficult work situation / project and how you overcame it. - So, are you asking me how hard politician cum employee I'm ?! Ask those previous clients who got satisfied after a deliberate delay in launching the product :D 4. What is your greatest strength and weakness? - Never knew, I'm expecting this answer from you at the end of this interview 5. How do you handle stress and pressure? - I better take off when it is beyond my tolerance power 6. Why do you want this job? - Tomorrow, I saw some of the pictures on your website depicting how well you value and treat your employees. (Seriously I'm bored of my routine job where nobody cares how I'm doing in my personal life) 7. Why should we hire you? - How can I say? 8. Where do you see yourself in X years? - Well, it depends if everything goes well (not usual case), I can prove myself as an inevitable resource (to whom you would never prefer to offer a pink slip) to this company Considering the situation, these are not funny questions at all but think of hypothetical situation where you are allowed to get lite for the final round of your interviews.

Answer:
1. Sir, You see that piece of paper, you are holding and seems to have read. In my college we call this magical thing RESUME (CV) in which we write our Bio data. 2. Sir , 'Yourself' has 8 characters out of which 5 consonant and 3 are vowels. If you spell it, Its is Y--OUR--SELF , which is self explanatory.

I told the hiring manager that it was a very old question... And he can - being an expert in HR - read me as I am sitting before him... He laughed at me - and said... Tell me some thing about why you have changed organizations so frequently? There is only one reply - that as I am not a "professional" I can only get good jumps in both salaries and designations by changing the organizations. Then he asked me - Tell me "why should I take you" I said - "frankly if I am in your position I will not ... but still you will need me, why? Because - you need some one who has got experience in multiple fields.

I am writing this answer anonymously because I don't want to hurt the sentiments of the person :P(let's call him Mr. X) being talked about. So this Mr. X is one of my best mates at college and I was helping him prepare for the HR round for a core company for which he had applied. This is how the mock interview went (Note: Mr. X was actually serious throughout the interview): Me: "So Mr. X, how are you?" Mr. X: Good morning, Sir Me: "Well Good morning Mr. X! Tell me something about yourself!" Mr. X: Actually sir I am a student from IIT Kanpur in my final year. My name is Mr.X. I studied in Pujyapita school (Name changed to preserve identity) in Agra. Since child(intentional grammatical error to replicate the reply from Mr. X) I was fascinated about Kabbadi. I was also Kabbadi champion in my school. I was very hardworking in class. Actually sir I hard worked because I wanted to impress a girl in my school. Her name was "Ms. Z". I was very fond of Ms.Z. Actually sir she is the reason why I was in IIT. I went to kota to do my coaching. There I was interested in mathematics. But I left playing Kabbadi as I could not focus on studies when I played Kabbadi. I wanted to impress Ms.Z sir so, I studied very hard for JEE. (By this time I could not stop myself from smiling) (Trying to bring the conversation on track) Me: That's all right Mr. X, tell me about your interests in technical domain. Mr. X: Sir, I am very interested in power electronics sir. Actually sir since child I used to change bulbs in the house. If anything go wrong my mom used to call me to check. I even changed the motor of our cooler once. I made a card with led light for Ms. Z. I literally burst of laughing, I could not hold myself. Poor Mr. X got confused wondering what could be so funny in his honest reply to the question. :P Thankfully, because of this mock interview, we could advise him not to share his complete life history and stick to relevant answers only. :P

I once asked the standard, "So what brings you to the job market?" The young man responded, "Well, basically, I graduated from college, spent all my money on beer, and my mom told me to get a job."

I once heard about a guy who was asked to implement the Queen Placement problem, which is basically asking in how many ways can you place 8 Queens on a chessboard such that no two queens can attack each other (i.e. not on the same row, column, or diagonal). This being a famous question, the candidate simply wrote: int foo() { return 92; } He was of course asked to reimplement it.

Well I wouldn't call it a "funny answer", but... Once, the technical director of a tech company was interviewing me for the position of web developer. He asked "Do you know how to make text bold? How about changing the colors and fonts through CSS?" I gave him a look that plainly said "dude, did you just ask me that?" He apparently caught the look and explained he was asking this because he'd actually interviewed people who didn't know. And yes, I got the job.

My dad was one among the three interview panelist in a private bank and he narrated me an interview experience with a candidate. The questions were a mixture of technical and general knowledge. Panelist 1: Who is the current president of America? Candidate: Barack Obama. Dad: Who was the Osama Bin Laden? Candidate: Former president of America. Panelist 2: Who is Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi? Candidate: Obama's brother. Dad: Okay you may leave. It was a laughter riot among the panelists after the candidate left.

The funniest answer I ever gave in a programming interview about Perl was "When would you add 'use warnings' in your code?" and I answered with "When I want my script to stop working." In all seriousness, interviews are times for factual conversations, and while it's okay to be casual, giving any of the answers above would basically shut me down. The answer to #1 could also be misconstrued as sexual harassment. Your personality, no matter how quirky, will show through in all of your answers. Trying too hard to make the interviewer laugh at your answers will likely label you as "unprofessional" or not serious about the job. Worst of all, you could be thought of as wasting the time of your interviewer and be grounds for shutting you down as a likely candidate.

Here are the common 19 questions and why they are asked to help you formulate an answer, http://bitly.com/1o7SJHB .They are often asked in most interviews regardless of the industry, BPO included.
George P. Adams
bpo interviews is actually not hard as much rest interviews.generally they find some points in a candidate: (communications skills) tell me about yourself.?? So you can tell them about your qualifications, strengths, weakness and something about your family. They will ask you about your studies if you say yes I'm doing study then they may reject you because they know very well study will effect on your job and one day (very soon) you will leave. They may ask, why you work with them ??so you can tell them because sir I want to learn and earn good experience with a good bpo company like this and make career in this field only.
