How did you like your European river cruise with Viking River Cruises?

Which direction, eastward or westward, is best to cruise the Yangtze river and Three Gorges?

• Many cruise companies offer very similar cruises along the Yangtze River through the Three Gorges area. There are two routes offered, one starting at Chongqing and going downstream to Yichang. Usually taking 3 to 4 days. The other in the opposite direction from Yichang to Chongqing, and taking one day longer. Eastward itinerary 3 nights Chongqing Fengdu, the “Ghost City.” Lesser Three Gorges or up the Shennong River Xiling Gorge Three Gorges Dam Yichang Westward itinerary 4 nights Yichang Three Gorges dam Xiling Gorge Lesser Three Gorges or Shennong River Fengdu, the “Ghost City.” Chongqing For anyone that has tried both directions, which would the better choice?

  I went twice, both from Chongqing to Yichang. I guess there wouldn't be much difference if you go backwards. PS. Don't miss the small three gorges on Daning river.That's real fun.
