Can you faint while you are sleep walking?

How can sleep-walking in children be cured?

  • I often wake up to find my kid walking around the hall dazed and confused. I am afraid he is developing the symptoms of sleep-walking.

  • Answer:

I hear you. You are not alone. It can be very unnerving to see, sleepwalking I’ve heard is often common among kids and  they outgrow it by the time they become teenagers. Sleepwalking patterns can vary from being harmless as in sitting up to potentially dangerous walking outdoors to even extreme cases where the kid might even open a closet door to urinate inside. And chances are they won’t remember a thing once they wake up. Although sleepwalking isn't dangerous by itself, it's important to take precautions so that your sleepwalking child is less likely to fall down, run into something, walk  out the front door, or even drive. Whenever it happens just try to keep  him safe by: - Not waking him as it might scare him. Instead gently hold his hand and guide him back to his   bed. - Lock the windows and doors, not just in your child's bedroom but throughout your home, in case your    young sleepwalker decides to wander - Prevent falls by not letting him sleep in a bunk bed - Keep dangerous and harmful objects out of reach If the problem still persists it would be wise to consult a doctor. Have you heard about this ‘second opinion site’ called http://www.mediangels.com They have special experts on sleep disorder syndromes. Why don’t you consult one of their doctors? It will surely be helpful.
