Is it a good career move to consider opportunities in BRIC countries now?

• Is it too early to consider professional opportunities in BRIC countries & relocating there?

• Answer:

  Yes, many companies have recognized, post-economic crisis, that this is where the opportunities are. Their preference is to find candidates from BRIC  (now BRIICS  Brazil, Russia, India, Indonesia, China, South Africa), and either hire them locally, or send them back to the HQ for training. For non-BRIC professionals there are some opportunities in areas where the local skills are absent. Ideally you would need some connection to the country in question like language, study, time spent there, relatives etc. but it is possible to just get on a plane, got there and get a job. Definitely not too early as the boom in China is over 15 years old and Brazil will have a consumer boom for the next 10 years (Olympics and World Cup).
