How can I track third party conversion?

Is it possible to track analytics of a page via an iframe that is being hosted by a third party/website?

  • Can facebook track how many times their Like button is loaded on blogs and via the same Iframe - can they also track Analytics of the page on which the iframe has been embedded ? Also how can one get link back from such IFRAMES?

  • Answer:

    Because the stuff that's inside the iFrame is being hosted on another server, there's no traditional analytics you could get from it as most require you to be able to install some javascript on the page.  This does, however, also mean that Facebook can't get any analytics about your site either.  What they can get  is the number of times people interacted with that iframe object, which is how they can display the number of likes in the first place.
