How do F1 sponsors get their returns?

Also, I don't think anyone would get a streak to buy the product after looking at the sticker on a car. I think a newspaper ad can fetch more customers. So why some companies sponsors these teams. For a car company, it can be a good way to show off their technology. But for companies like Vodafone, it doesn't make sense to me. So how exactly these sponsors get their money out of these events?

  Brand value.. If a company is able to afford so much to advertise their company name, then for sure the company is big and has huge market value! I'll give an example in mobile phone sector.. Samsung holds the lion share 32% of all phones sold.. The reason for that is that their phones are good and they are able to properly advertise their stuff and most of the people have an impression that this company is big and reliable! It's all about marketing.. U mention vodafone, out here in my state their are so many small network companies who advertise themselves at a small scale, but a person like me would prefer to opt for vodafone as I am looking for good service, if that company is so famous, then their service ought to be good! The more ure able to spread the word about ur brand, the more people will get attracted.. Millions of people look at those small stickers and have an impression that this company has international existence and won't vanish if they buy products from them.
