What does it takes to be a forensics?

What is the value of digital forensics, particularly for litigation defense attorneys?

  • I am curious how often digital forensics are used by defense attorneys --( ie. occasionally versus frequently) and what you feel the value is to your case? Also, do defense attorneys find it easy to find knowledge experts in digital forensics? What has been your experience in how may people are out there doing this and the caliber of their work (I am in Silicon Valley but am interested in perspectives from anywhere in the US). Are you satisfied with what you pay for digital forensics for services received and what trend have you seen in rates for this service? (increasing, decreasing, or staying the same?).
