What exactly is a "View" and are all views the same?

• I'd like more information than   He states that "A  view is counted when a person sees the content in their feed. The  content has to be seen in an active window, and not just appear  somewhere in the feed where a user might have not have seen it." but this is not clear to me. For example, when I loaded Quora just now, I see about 5 or 6 items on the screen, but apparently another 10 or 15 items are loaded and below the visible part of the screen.  Do those count as a view?  If I scroll down to that part of the screen another 10 or 20 items are loaded but not yet visible - do those count? Is a view as shown on the "View" feature the same as a view on the "Promote" feature and a question view count and an answer view count? If an answer appears in a feed, does that count as both a question view and an answer view? If all views are from feed, shouldn't the question views be the sum of all the answer views?  If the full question is loaded does that count as a view for the question and all the answers?  For example this has 2724 views, the top answer has 328 fewer views at 2395 views and the total of all the answer had 1064 more views than the question.  Does that make sense?

Only stories that are visible in the user's screen are counted. A view as counted on the is a broader concept, as it also incorporates views from sources other than feed (mainly digest emails).
