What is the procedure for creating a single web page with a Facebook like button that allows the user to login to Facebook & like the random page then be redirected to another page automatically?

    You will first need to make an app on facebook. Visit http://developers.facebook.com and make an app for your website. Facebook has excellent documentation for it's plugins and you should have no problem setting it up. If the user grants permission to your app then you get certain basic information about him/her depending on what all you have asked for in the app requirements. For your purposes, there won't be any need to take more than the minimum required permissions (name, profile ID, profile pic and friends) and you can then redirect the user to another page by storing his/her profile ID in your database.
