Which one should I choose for M.Tech: NIT, Trichy, NIT, Warangal, NIT, Suratkal, NIT, Allahabad or Delhi College of Engineering in thermal/design?
-
I just want to know what kind of opportunity I can have after doing M.tech from these institutes. What are placement scenario in these colleges? How much pressure of study we have during m.tech? Which one should I prefer? Any one please reply who is perusing/completed his/her M.tech or B.tech from these colleges. Which one should I prefer? EDIT II: Any one from NITs please reply... EDIT I: I came to know from my friends that study load in Delhi College Of Engineering is Zero and one can prepare for any exam while study in DCE but placement is also Zero.

Answer:
Hi! I am pursuing my B.Tech at DTU(Formerly DCE). I have never felt that work load is zero. It all depends on how much you want to study and that it irrespective of what and where you're studying.WE DO HAVE STUDY LOAD! We do get assignments and some projects are to be done in the third and fourth year.If you have the feeling to do work hard like anything for your future, you will always fall short of time the way I do.And as far as placement is concerned, dude, seriously open up your eyes or stop discussing such stuff with your friends.Placement is something the college wants you to get and you get it if you have prepared well for that particular company. And DTU has one of the best placement records in the country. BUT note this- PLACEMENT DEPENDS ON YOUR ABILITIES RATHER THAN THE COLLEGE. If you don't get placed, put yourself to blame and not the college, there are many students from DTU who got placed with Google by applying off-campus in the 2010-14 batch. Now coming back to your question, M.Tech is something that I have seen people doing because they have either not studied well during B.Tech or did not get a good placement. There might be other reasons too but in my opinion, better work hard during your B.Tech rather doing M.Tech and wasting two precious years because at the end the same companies come for both B.Tech and M.Tech(there might be a slight difference in stipend that's all;you should be earning more than what any M.Tech student in the same company earns today,2 years down the line for sure). As a senior, I would just wish that you do your B.Tech with full enthusiasm, do as many projects as possible, attend workshops and seminars, do MOOCs...In short, learn as much as possible and implement all those learnings to the same extent. Also have a positive attitude and set your goals for your placement & keep working towards it until you get it.You ought to shine like anything then. Good luck! Hope my answer helps you and that your friends too get benefitted by it :)

I have studied in NITW, as someone mentioned about the weather it's, I pretty much agree but summer is horrible. The three months you will suffer the most. For btech they have summer holidays but mtech don't, since you are paid and you have to be there to assist your guide. Placement wise it depends on your ability as I have seen most companies prefer btech and the placement coordinator hast to struggle a lot to bring companies for mtech. In this regard you have think but I assume all other nit's have same problems. The library is good has lots of books but mtech the books are less. So you have to to be the fist to grab the books since some btech also refer the same. When I was studying we didn't had access to journals I meant to sites like science direct. Lecturers are good I mean awesome however there always one or two blacksheeps too every stream has that. Food and staying in NITW. Umm you get to stay in ultrmega which is cool and have all the facilities. You will get Maggie 24/7. In summer it's pretty harsh, the main mess will be closed so keep ready your kettle. Mess food is not that good, but you will get mix every state so you might enjoy rice and pappu saru and well the curd too. I hope altogether a good college and you will enjoy it for sure. Internet is fast too. Tagay
