Which U.S. town is the cheapest place to live with good Internet access?

  • I want to move to the cheapest place possible and work on my product for a couple of months, after which I plan to move to the bay area to prepare the launch. Where is the cheapest place to live but with a good internet access in the U.S.?

    I know about a small community in Upstate new york- Canandaigua, NY not the cheapest.. definitely not bad, and the upside is the entire town has free wireless access.  So rent an apartment and type away.

Easy, easy, easy answer.  Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas City, Kansas.  Check out the Google Fiber project which is offering 5Mbps download for FREE.  You can check your internet speed at http://mobilespeedtest.com, my guess is it's roughly about speed now. https://fiber.google.com/about/ You can get a place in that area for about $500 per month. Try http://padmapper.com.  Picking a place at random (that appears legit) http://delpropertieskc.com/alps, offering studios for $340 / month. I don't think that's in the Google Fiber roll-out neighborhoods, but you can check that out here: https://fiber.google.com/cities/kck/#header=check I would love a follow-up comment.
