Is mba tech i.e. dual degree in civil engineering is good to pursue?

I am doing my B.tech degree in chemical engineering. I am confused about what to do after B.tech, a MBA or M.tech? And if M.tech, then what is the right time for preparation for the GATE examination?

  • Answer:

This depends on what your interests are: If you are interested in Chemical Engineering then start preparing for Gate exams and get admitted to a competitive graduate program. I think the examination generally takes on an average about 8-12 months of preparation to get admitted in any of the old IITs. If you are a B. tech student from IIT and applying for GATE just for the sake of getting the scholarship then a preparation time of  3-4 months is generally sufficient. If you are not interested in Chemical Engg then you should start preparing for MBA rather than pursuing a graduate program in Chemical Engineering.
