How do I become a music producer?

  • I know how to use FL studio. I play guitar and keyboard. I have done a few mixes, but I want to know how to become a full-fledged music producer.

    Like anything, there's only one answer to this, which is, embrace what you do, fully. Just take all your free time and dedicate it to practice, rehearsal, research and never sit on what you have, always make more, more more. I would also recommend avoiding distraction and label hunting in the first years. Like someone said, work on developing your own sound, persona. Try to connect with people who make music you love. Listen to a lot of music of other people, perhaps, just as much as making some. Embrace any feedback given, consider it, then pass to something else. When you don't have fun doing it, take long pauses and go for a walk, play with your pet or read forums about music making. It's a long road, but the first step to your destination is just by leaving Quora and open FLStudio :)

Its matter of time and experience...get a friend who write,get a friend who sings,compose some songs,produce good beats,music in DAW of your choice....try to mix the song at best of your effort and then give to some good mix and mastering engineer. make 5 to 10 songs like this ...sell it on itunes and then offer your service to singers,bands etc by showing your work...More good these songs will be more clients will come to you....at first charge less so that more work comes to you once your work become quite known or you get some hits then you can take forward from there on.And most important invest in a good gear and studio...if you cant afford that just rent a studio or take help from friend who has a good studio.hope it helps.

See bro.... first you have to develop your original sound ..and here's the way you can achieve that .. First download flps of the songs you like and the flps such as electro house flp and the stuff which comes in suggestions ... Now open empty project file and try to recreate the elements as they are there .. you have to copy since you are learning..but in a smart way... Just see what knobs have been trifled ..and try to think why.. and develop your theory about that ..refer back to tutorials.... here lies the difference ..those who copy just for the sake of copying ...they won't gain but those who analyse ..they steal most out of it After you are done with all this you'll get a feeling that now you can fiddle with this element to create some unique sound ...you'll try and then ultimately you'll find your own sound .... After that you can collaborate and do the things that fellow mates answered ! Hope this helps ^_^
