I have heard that Singapore became rich after it made its ports free for ships to arrive and do trade. Will this be the final strategy or try for India to become a developed nation?Narendra Modi is known to concentrate more on development heavily. Can the respected Prime Minister make the Sea Ports free so that India get more sea business which in turn can help Indias' economic boost?

Answer:
Legally speaking he can but rationally speaking he should not or will not as we not only have a very large costal border we simply lack in infrastructure to pull this off. Major problem is the issue of security and we don't have a sound coast guard network nor we have enough man power to monitor all the trade and traffic on the ports.
