How do I extract or unzip or unrar a password protected zip or rar file?

There's tool called "fcrackzip" available for both Linux and Windows. Search and download it! Read the instructions how to use it with different parameters. After installing this you have options to attack on your zip file, either choose brute force attack or dictionary attack.

Firstly, you need to know the password to extract protected file. If you forgot it (a.k.a you don't know it)  you can use some tools that help you scan the password. Since it is protected you need the password.Obviously you dont have the permission to access the file. I doubt that there is an alternative to that.

You can use fcrackzip. It's quite a reliable tool that brute forces the password and only catch is time. Smaller passwords are done much quicker.

You can try to brute force that zip using common passwords.

Use a password cracking tool that supports zip.
