  • I am a 23 year old cook, with a years experience in professional kitchens, I have a degree in hotel management, I want to get a diploma in culinary management from George Brown Canada. I am doing this solely because the restaurant industry in India sucks ass, and I'm hoping getting a 2 year diploma in Canada, helps me land a job there and might ultimately help me become a permanent resident. I am thinking of financing this by getting a loan of 2.5 million INR (25 lacs) . Any advice?

  • Answer:

I  have heard good things about the restaurant (cooked by students) at  George Brown.  Don't know about the management program.  The school  itself is in a nice part of Toronto.  You'll be right in the middle of  an area with many fine restaurants. Don't borrow more than you expect your first year's salary to be when you finish.   http://www.oldtowntoronto.ca/ http://oncampus.macleans.ca/education/2009/01/26/george-brown-college-the-chefs%E2%80%99-house/
