How do I remove HornyWorm.apk from my Samsung Galaxy s2 phone?
-
So I opened a webpage and I wanted to download some songs when this message popped up: "Warning: Your Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket is attacked by Hornyworm.apk! Your Phone has reached 90% of memory usage!" What should I do? How do I remove this virus?

Answer:
From what you're describing, I don't think this is a virus because you mention that it popped when you opened a webpage. Meaning this is just a pop up to my best guess. Nothing is wrong with your phone, they are only trying to trick you into clicking on it and buying their antivirus. I recommend downloading https://adblockplus.org/en/android-install to stop the pop ups. To check if it is a virus, go to your storage and check if the 90% of your storage is really gone. In case it is, I recommend going back on any apps you've downloaded lately and try to figure out which one came with the virus. Best of luck!

Mostly, it is not a virus. It is a trick, to make you buy a antivirus. There are some freeware antivirus available for Android, and you can give them a try, just to be sure.

Dont allow your device to install .apk files if you are not sure of what you are installing. Uncheck allow apps from outside option. Now Try Kaspersky anti virus

1) Download and install Sophos Security. It's probably the best anti-virus software on the market, it's free, and they have a lot of other security features you should be using. Scan your system and enable scanning of any new apps or updates. 2) Do not download from unknown sources. Uncheck the box in the system security settings. 3. Uninstall any apps you downloaded outside of the Play Store or Amazon App store. Is the warning popping up as you have a particular app running? Delete the cache in the system app settings for that particular app, then uninstall it.

It's not a virus. Just close the tab. I'd advise you to install a good adblocker to keep you safe from these pop-ups that download suspicious files to your phone. Also, don't visit websites that appear suspicious and are full of ads. Browse safe.

Ignore it, it's a scam/spam popup.
