What mediums would you suggest using to advertise to middle America?

  • Shoestring budget. Middle America means Americans of the United States struggling to make ends meet in this recession. Earning between $10,000 & $75,000 a year as an individual or family.

    I would go the direct response route — online and offline. Money mailer, ValPak, GroupOn, Living Social, Adwords, Facebook Ads, etc.

What is Middle America? Geographically? Economically?  Educationally? Culturally? Rather than define your message by medium, try to better understand your target audience. You're still very far away from knowing your customer if you're defining them as "Middle America." Then, instead of advertise to them (I mean, you hate watching ads yourself, why on earth would you subject the most important people to the success of your business to them?) make something that they would find useful and want to seek out. Great content in the form of blog posts, info graphics, how-tos, web videos, songs, quora answers, Craigslist ads, tweets, tumblrs, podcasts, panel discussions, pinterest pins, recipes, downloadable posters, iOS apps, cheat sheets, schedules. ( Those are just the first few I could think of without my notes. )
