What does domain mapping cost with WordPress?

  • I've been blogging with blogger for many years now but I thought I'd give wordpress a proper go only to find it costs £9.00 per year for domain mapping, a feature which Google offers for free. Does it actually cost Wordpress money to map my domain or are they in it for the money?

It costs them nothing to add an entry to point your .http://wordpress.com subdomain to your real domain. Your question is not clear enough, but from what I can tell you are asking about additional costs associated with a CNAME record on top of your usual annual domain registration fees from your registrar of choice.
