How do I add people as friends?

How do I add people who are not my friends to a Facebook group?

  • Does anyone have a script that would allow me to do so? I'm building up a discussion group of like-minded people, but if I were to try adding all the people I want for my group as friends, my account would probably be blocked. I need a script I can just put into the 'Add Friends' dialogue box of the group that would allow me to add a random. Of course if they don't like the group they will be able to leave, just as my friends can.

  • Answer:

Unluckily, this isn't possible. No script or nothing will help you. If the group is 'closed', they will be able to request to join the group. If it's open, they will be able to join anyway.

Unfortunately, this is not possible. For standard Facebook Groups: You can only add people you're friends with. Other people can request to join open or closed groups but they must be confirmed by an admin before they can join. For Groups created within your school’s Facebook Group: You can create and join groups with any other members, and other members can add you to groups. This way anyone at your school can participate in a group without having to become friends first. https://www.facebook.com/help/190622277696378/

As Dan Leveille said, this is not possible. But here's an alternative (which would probably seem obvious and second-nature to an FB user ,but I'm just stating it for completeness) 1) Create the group 2) Add your existing friends 3) Make the group open 4) Post the link to your group on your wall and list it as a "Public" post, so that anyone who is following you ,who you might not be friends with , can join said group. 5) Also post the link on other related group walls so that people who you aren't friends with will voluntarily join the group :) This should serve your purpose. Word-of-mouth marketing of said group is another obvious technique. OR - Post it on Quora as a blog-post ;) As I see it , Quora's motto could be "Quora : Connecting sensible people since 2009" ;)

While it's not possible, there are a few workarounds: Blog about the group and put a link to it in the post. Create a Page for the groups and post a link to the group on the page and then boost it via FB ads. Piggyback on an existing community that might be interested in your group. For example, a local business club would benefit by joining your internet marketing group. The key is not to force people to join your group if you want to maintain a high quality membership.

I am not sure Facebook allow to add unknown friends to Facebook group through script. Here are the simple steps to add all friends to group via script. First of all Log in into that account whose friends you want to invite. Then open your Facebook Group in which you want to add friends. Now Click F12 button to open debugger and then select console box. Now you can copy script from below given button. Press enter and process will start for sending invitation.Note:- Don’t worry about anything this script is totally safe. In case you have too many friends then you get blocked for using groups or even your account may get locked. So be careful. If you have a limited number of unknown users you can them by entering their name or email address below Add Members in the top right of the group page. For all types of groups—Public, Closed and Secret—group members can add anyone who's a friend of someone in the group.Note: If you add people to a group, a group admin may need to approve the request before they can join.
