Is there a clean way to parse HTML?

In Thunderbird, is there a way to automatically reply in html the messages that are formated in html and in plain text the messages that are formated in plain text?

  • I prefer plain text for messaging, but it is often better to reply in html the messages that were originally formated in html, to keep the format, which might be important. My ideal setup would be to write new messages in plain text, but to reply html messages in html automatically. I know that I can press shift when clicking on reply to open the composer in html format, but I'd like this behaviour to be automatic.

  • Answer:

You will need to open up Thunderbird, go to Tools-->Options--->Composition--->General tab-->Send options From there you can set up your reply emails, however you have to specify which domains that the email replies will be sent to as html or txt. You might want to check the addons page for Thunderbird to see if any plugins for this have been released as well. Hope that helps you out a bit! Chase
