How do you search for users in Yahoo?

How can I build a lookup feature like http://finance.yahoo.com/lookup for my web site that takes users to a specific webpage rather than a list of search results?

• I'm building a finance web site and would provide a search function that allows users to type in a name or symbol and be taken directly to the associated page, rather than being presented with a long list of indexed search results.   The desired behavior is identical to what the http://finance.yahoo.com/lookup feature does. For example, if you type in "Apple" or "AAPL" in the symbol look up box, it takes you directly to this page: http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=AAPL   rather than presenting you with an indexed site search results page like this:   https://finance.search.yahoo.com/search/;_ylc=X3oDMTFzcDg1djk5BGtleXcDYWFwbGUEbWlkA21lZGlhcXVvdGVzc2VhcmNoBHNlYwN1aGIyBHNsawNmaW5hbmNlX3NlYXJjaA--?p=aaple&type=2button&fr=uh3_finance_vert_gs   What's are recommended ways for accomplishing this?   Create JSON document following format : { symbol: "AAPL", altNames:["aapl","apple"], url:"http://www.apple.com" } repeat it this template for each symbol, use array altNames for alternative names of symbol - that's it use filtered query to filter field altNames
