What is a fringe organisation?

Flattery or hard work, which is good to go upward in organisation?

  • I, myself worked in different organisation. I saw two types of people in those organisation. First :- Those people who worked very hard so that organisation gets improved day by day, they do ground level work i.e. they don't interact with person having higher post. Second :- They do work very often and interact with the both persons i.e. person who worked on ground and the person who is working at higher post. Second person doesn't allow you to grow up in organisation. After Some time, first person realizes that no one knows in the organisation except the second person and if second person doesn't like him than he never exist in the organisation. I feels that if someone is doing hardwork to  built an organisation,than no need to do flattery. I strongly believe in hardwork rather than butt licking. But the result is vice versa. I saw people who do hardwork are sitting outside the organisation, and people who do licking are going upward in organisation... I am really confused why this sort of thing is happening and how to get out of this thing? Is there any example available of this type where a person do hardwork and go upward in organisation? Thanks for reading

    Leaving all the idealism behind, I would say Go for 20-80. I mean, practical world, practical answer. But don't loose your dignity butt licking. Just have a great trustworthy relation. Make them feel you are someone they can rely on. And work hard.

Ajay, great question ! We are often in this dilemna...I was too, I must confess. The answer I found is a little philosophical but I truly believe in it. What I recommend is the in today's world if you want to stick to your high ideals and still rise then only "hardwork" is not going to be enough !! Believe it or not..there are thousands and lakhs of people who are giving their 100% to the work they are doing !! So there has to be a way to distinguish yourself from these hardworking people...now how do you do that?? This is I guess the main question...lets just get the 'butt lickers' out of our thoughts !! So how do you become exceptional?? I believe the answer here is CREATIVITY in your work such that your work speaks for itself !! For that you have to move beyond 100%...i.e. you have to move beyond giving 100% from 9-5 but instead do the things that others won't...put in more"smart hours" rather than doing donkey work all day long, associate with like minded people, get guidance from those who are ahead of you in the race of life, surround yourself with people who are committed and driven, get extra coaching in your field of work, learn new things, be aware of what is happening around you...Now this won't happen just from 9-5..you have to put in these extra hours...this is the stuff which separates the "brilliant" from the good...this is how you put in your 500% !! You will notice that your work will shine out of the ordinary..take the path less travelled...!! Success is yours...and when you get it out of your own sweat and blood it brings satisfaction as an add-on that the buttlickers never get !! Buttlicking- NEVER !! 500% - FOREVER !! PS: Be nice to people. Don't be rude to others simply because of your brilliance. Be humble while enjoying success !
