How do IIMs convert CGPA obtained in Engineering to its equivalent percentage? Does it depend on the conversion formula provided by the University the college is affiliated to or do they have their own formula?
-
For example, I study in PESIT, an autonomous college under VTU. If I have a CGPA of 8 is it equivalent to 80% or 72.5% since the conversion formula provided by VTU is (CGPA - 0.75) * 10

Answer:
It is depending on the formula adopted by the college in case its autonomous. I'd recommend you ask the placement department of your college for the formula they use officially.
