What are the top 10 questions you need to ask a CEO/cofounder regarding their business plan to help draft an effective marketing plan/strategy?
-
-
Answer:
There are only three questions you should ask the CEO when preparing a marketing plan for the company in which you manage the marketing function. 1. When do you want the final draft? 2. Who is the audience - internal, external, board of directors? 3. If intended for a live presentation, how much time do we have? If I am the CEO and I find that I am getting 10 questions about the market/business from my marketing guy, I will start looking for a new marketing guy. Ken Larson mentions many good questions, but as the marketing manager it is your job to formulate and answer those questions. If the marketing manager is unable to do this independently then they may not be successful in this role.
