Why does water condensate under my hot cup of coffee? Where does the water come from?
-
It may be the same principle of "toast sweat" - where does the water come from? The air, table, or coffee cup? Something else?
-
Answer:
I don't know about the coffee but I'm pretty sure "toast sweat" is moisture from the bread escaping as steam. Sometimes you can see your toast streaming, so its probably steaming out the side you can't see as well which cools and condenses on your plate leaving the sweat mark.
