What Is Project Management?

In terms of Project management, Trello is excellent but what about ProjeQtOR ?

  • Obviously Trello is an excellent PM software as we can see from the large amount of good reviews for it but  there needs to be more reviews for ProjeQtor, which actually seems better for Project Management according to these two sites: http://project-management-software.findthebest.com/l/167/ProjeQtOr and http://sourceforge.net/projects/projectorria/ Could you try these two out for a while and give a comparison of them: what's similar about them and pros and cons for each. Reviews of just one is OK especially if for ProjeQtOR. I won't be able to do it myself soon enough so I thought others who are free or have already tried one or the other to try out the other one. Thanks.

    I don't use (and I really think I will never use) ProjeQtOr, but I think it cannot be more different from Trello. Trello is a kanban style to-do-list app. So easy you don't need to read a single line of documentation to begin to work with it. I'm currently using it as a project management application. No frills, rocking UI, available on every device. ProjeQtOr seems to have a lot more features, from gantt visualization to bug tracking. It's a different kind of application. But if you need gantt charts and bug tracking software, keep looking on the internet: I'm sure you'll find a lot of alternatives with a much less cluttered interface. And remember: never trust an application whose logo is written in Comic Sans!

Trello is Kanban oriented planning apllication. So, it is easy to use, simple, and may fit small agile project. ProjeQtOr is a real Project Management tool, not agile oriented (although it can be used for agile project). It is most dedicated to medium-sized to large project, involving many resources. It is also designed to manage several projects, sharing the resources. So it is most a replacement for MS-Project (or even MS-Project Server) and all the Excel sheets project managers use to deploy (or not ;) ) on their project to track issues, risks, decisions, actions, questions, mettings, billing and so on. To finish, ProjeQtOr is work driven : so you have to plan work for resource to build the planning. If you do not manage workload, Trello can bean alternative.
