What are some case studies on building business-community ecosystems?

  • (this is taking community engagement to the next level - forming deeper and richer connections) That is, developing and scaling trust-based relationships among a large number of participants (staff, business partners, community members, businesses) to more closely connect a business and its staff to the communities in which they work. I am looking for 'ideas in action' via case studies of local & global organisations who have successfully built such ‘community ecosystems’ / community engagement programs (either physical or virtual). The SAP Developer Network allows SAP professionals to connect and set best practices for its community, which also has to do with business sometimes.  This "gamification" case study here - http://www.bunchball.com/sites/default/files/case_study-gamification_sap_community_network-july2013.pdf is interesting but there are other companies that are doing their own communities internally.
