Answer:
I think its a choice between studying in a good college and studying a branch which you like. So if you want to study CSE then go for the latter but if branch is not much of a concern for you than NIT definitely is a better brand. Though architecture is a five year course and is a highly specialised field so weigh your interests before you choose.

There is one very important thing you need to remember before making the choice. You'll need to stay for 4 years in the college you choose but the stream you opt for- You'll have to live with it for the rest of your life. (i.e. if you dont opt for an MBA or related higher education courses) Until you are in your school its not such a big deal. But the decisions you make now will be with you for the rest of your life. Its a decision you're making not for now but for the future. So, think it over. These are the factors that you should look for before going for the final decision: 1. What is your life priority? Give some time for introspection. Think what tops your list of priorities. If all you want from life is a good package and the stream takes a backseat in your life then you can talk to the seniors in both the colleges and get to know the placement details(But my personal advice to you would be to not run behind money and discover what your true interest lies in). Something that is important to you now may not be important later. For eg: the college rank is at a topmost priority for most of the students in their 12th grades. But by experience I can tell you this that once you're in a college it seriously doesnt matter to you whether youre in an IIT or an NIT or a local state college. When you're in college you'll be more worried about your placements and packages. But once you get a job you'll realize personal satisfaction will top your list. So priorities are just time dependent. 2. The faculty for the specific branch I took a branch I was interested in but realised that irrespective of the college rank the faculty here is pathetic inspite of the NIT tag. So make sure you check that too. So my advice would be to first discover what makes you really happy, the feeling of building a skyscraper from scrap or googling your way to Google. If stream is not at all important to you , then first go for faculty that will generate an interest even in a boring subject and then go for placements. Hope it helped:) Good luck with your admissions. Finally, Thanks for the A2A.

Architecture: It is both the process and the product of planning, designing, and constructing buildings and other physical structure. [source : wiki] If you get good at it, you might be designing something like this (or may be even better): Now CSE, which is basically programming/ coding: If you become a good coder, your designs or codes might get into popular products such as: Now ask yourself. What excites your more? CSE or architecture or probably something else, say Mechanical or Electronics or Chemical etc? This is the mistake we most Indians do: we choose the college not the branch. Here choosing branch becomes a secondary thing. What you would be doing in coming years of your life would be the field/stream you choose. Going to a "better" college while choosing some random stream could kill your career unless you get interested in that. I too went for the best college I could get with the rank I scored and luckily I had a good enough rank to get CSE in NITW. Had my rank been a little lower and I had chosen some other branch, which of course I would have done being a naive at that time, I would have literally died. Good college always makes it easier for you: good campus placements, good alumni circle, etc. Nobody can deny that. But if you are thinking top colleges have better faculty then it is not always true; at least not here in my college. Faculty in NITW-CSE is a total disaster. I can't comment about other branches. Above were the best case examples. Don't feel bad when I am writing this but this too happens. You might end up being just a good or an average professional. And trust me an average programmer earns way more than an average architect (or any other professional) earns plus working environment in Software company would probably be always better. Choose wisely. Consider: What interests you more? What you want to see yourself doing in your career? Never go with somebody else's opinion while choosing your career. And yeah, thanks for A2A.

dude first of all what is your rank in jee mains? and what is your interest of study .. I mean if you love coding then go for CSE branch and if you have good imagination power and you are good in drawing skills go for architecture for more things about being an architect see this http://www.lifeofanarchitect.com/do-you-want-to-be-an-architect/
