How to remove Chrome from Mac?

How do I remove the Chrome notification bell from the Mac Menu bar?

  • I am running the latest update to date version of Yosemite. A little while ago I updated my Chrome and the bell appeared. I searched at found the http://chrome://flag setting to change and the bell was removed. I updated Chrome yesterday. The bell appeared and the previous fix does not seem to be there anymore.

  • Answer:

I have tried every http://chrome://flags/ trick in the book. Eventually the icon kept coming back. I also use http://www.macbartender.com, and it is awesome. But I didn't want Chrome's menu bar icon managed. I wanted it gone. The solution you're looking for is very simple in the latest version of Chrome. Select “Hide Notifications Icon” from Chrome's application menu, and enjoy the serenity.

Thanks for A2A. I didn't upgrade my OSx to Yosemite yet. But looks like it's a complaint given my many users. I suggest 1. Try CMD+drag and drop of the icon you don't need. 2. Re-installing Chrome and give it a try. 3. It really doesn't take up much of your resources, so, I would say wait for the hard release of OSx or an update for Chrome, as you're not alone. 4. Try using app like http://www.macbartender.com/ to hide icons in notification bar. Hope this helps, please leave a comment about what you think. Good Luck.
