Which is better to select for a final year project, advanced Java or Android?
-
Hi...I am B.E Information Technology student. I am confused in selecting from several technologies for my final year project.I have good skills in core java expect File handling and threads. I first decided to select advanced java (J2EE) as it is included in my 7th semester academic course. But some of my benefactors said that programming in android is nothing but core java and for future aspects, droid guys will have good job opportunities. So, it will be better to make an android application rather than some system or website in advanced java. What to do? m very confused. plz help.

Answer:
'Droid guys' definitely will have good job opportunities, but not just if you do your project on Android. Since you are well versed with JAVA, and this is your final year which is extremely crucial; I suggest you go with JAVA and excel what you're best at. Don't take risks this final year. You need to display your talent, not the project title! Thanks for the A2A. Hoping this helps.

Android development is latest one and you should go for it if you know Java. http://www.final-yearproject.com

Both the technology have their advantage at own place. Before selecting any technology for project i would rather suggest you to frame your idea first what exactly you wanted to achieve in this project and then go for It either advance java or android. Development in android is core java only and you can develop any project easily. Coming to your question about future aspects both have equal opportunity but yes android has an advantage due to the shift towards mobile.

Depends on interest. You can choose android as it is relatively new.

Find out which project gives more learning. If you are already very good at Core Java, then as your well wishers suggested probably you can do an android app. Here you need to be very sure that the scope and complexity of the android app is large enough so that you can get good learning. In J2EE, there are more project opportunities where you can learn about the UI (HTML,CSS, JS), the app/web server and the database and whole lot of other complex things which are useful. Probably there are other things like how quick are you at learning things, what is your present expertise level, have you done any other medium/complex projects.
