How can I get better sound quality when recording videos from my computer webcam?

I am using a Dell laptop and attempting to record videos using a webcam on my computer. Although I am able to record videos, I am having trouble getting crystal clear sound quality.

The stock microphones on most computers are very low quality. For higher quality consider buying a USB large diaphragm condenser microphone and setting this as the audio input of your computer. A separate sound card with better A/D conversion would provide even better results. Look up reviews of products that fit your budget and need to see what might work best for your productions.
