What is the best option for a mechanical engineering MS degree, mechatronics or design?

  • I am a mechanical engineer thinking of pursuing a MS. Which field is better mechatronics or design (keeping in mind future job prospects)? Please also suggest which country I should prefer for it.

Well I would say, change your perspective of looking at the problem. Both Mechanical and Mechatronics are vast fields of Engineering. Provided that you have already earned a bachelor degree, look for specialization in either of two. For eg. Specialization in control engineering in case you love Mechatronics or specialization in Computation Fluid Dynamics in case you love Mechanical. Being skilled in one specific subject is very important in today's industry. Both stream equally offer ample amount of opportunities provided you are skilled enough and love what you do.
