How do I become a product marketing manager?

  • I want to become a product marketing manager. I'm in the digital marketing field planning to take techno MBA and Post grad diploma in CS. Is this enough? What are other ways or things that I should do?

    I'm not sure why I was asked to answer either. :) I reached my current role between online community management and marketing through an unconventional career path, and I've never been a product marketing manager, so there's not much advice that I can give you beyond the basics: Research job descriptions for jobs like the one you want to figure out the education and experience requirements. Find people who already have jobs similar to the one you want on LinkedIn. See what education and experience they have, and what career path they took to get to the job you want. Network with product marketing managers here, on LinkedIn, or even with a local Meetup group. Ask them for advice or even to mentor you.

Taking your question literally, the answer is no. Academic education is not enough to become a food product marketer.   You need three basic skills, which you or may have not obtained in your schooling: 1. Business thinking - profits, customer acquisition, strategy, etc. 2. Marketing skills - influencer marketing, lead generation, communications, presenting, web marketing, conversion optimization, etc. 3.
