While in Athens, stay around the Plaka area. This is near the ruins of the Acropolis. All of the trendy little shops and restaurants are here as well. Also, it is an area of old homes and winding streets. Very picturesque, very Athenian. In this area you will find a range of hotels from 3 - 5*. I am not a fan of 3* hotels. You can find very good deals on 4* hotels in the area.
