How to be a President Scholar?

What is the possible scenario if a research scholar becomes the vice-president of Gymkhana at IIT Kharagpur?

• The upcoming Gymkhana elections would witness a Research Scholar contesting for the VP post, would he be able to manage the various issues related to students?

• Answer:

  This is my personal view without considering my hall or the 'imaginary pact' my belongs to. Vice-president, gymkhana is the most important student post when it comes to resolving student issues, be it UG or PG or RS. More than anything, VP must be able to stand up for his fellow students and save their asses in case of any disciplinary committee, this is where I feel any non-UG student wont be able to deliver because they are simply not compatible with the UG activities, be it participation in GC, managing fests. Moreover, how can we expect them to keep the interests of all the hall presidents (i.e. all the students). What i personally feel is that: He/she would be more of a administrative representative than a student representative. He/she wont be able to manage the CHAOS He/she wont be able to save our asses when we are caught drunk or anything similar :P
